Osmani Martinez, 20, of 8 Rantoul Ave., was arrested and charged with armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and defacement malicious wanton. 

Garrett Shea, 37, of 38 Dunham Road, Beverly, was arrested on warrant charges of two counts of defacement malicious wanton, disorderly conduct, assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery on ambulance personnel, threatening to commit a crime, disorderly conduct, and carrying a dangerous weapon.

A report of an opiate overdose on Lynn Shore Drive at 3:09 a.m. Friday. 



Shayne Groom, 19, of 5 Evans Road, Peabody, was summoned on Thursday at 7:51 p.m. for breaking and entering and larceny after a caller reported someone breaking into a car.


Security company canceled the burglar alarm at 4 Country Club Drive on Thursday at 8:57 a.m. 

Workers set off fire alarm accidentally at Fugakyu at 630 Market St. on Thursday at 9:03. Call handled by the Lynnfield Fire Department. 

Fire alarm set off accidentally by workers at J.M. Electrical at 471 North Broadway on Thursday at 11:54 a.m. Call handled by the Lynnfield Fire Department. 

Security company reported burglar alarm sounded at Lynnfield High School at 275 Essex St. on Thursday at 4:45 p.m. Officer reports all is secure.


Manager from the Boston Sports Club at 425 Walnut St. reports threats made by a former customer on Thursday at 11 a.m. 

Caller from Wakefield Elks Club at 63 Bay State Road reports a motor vehicle has been left in the parking lot for a week. Officer reports the vehicle checked out OK.

Suspicious red pickup truck with New Hampshire plates  reported parked for several days at William Raveis Real Estate on Wednesday at 9:35 a.m. 

Damage to mailbox reported at 2 Wymon Way on Wednesday at 1:18 p.m. Officer took report.

Report of a landscaping trailer blocking the road in front of 15 Walnut St. on Wednesday at 2:25 p.m. Officer reports vehicle is legally parked and road is passable. 

Medical Aid

Ambulance requested on Thursday at 8:48 a.m. at Sunrise Assisted Living at 55 Salem St. for a resident who has fallen. Officer reports patient refused medical aid.

Request for an ambulance at Town Hall on Summer Street on Thursday at 11:16 a.m. for a person who fell. Patient taken to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington.

Ambulance request for 4 Daventry Court on Thursday at 11:35 p.m. Patient taken to Melrose/Wakefield Hospital.

Medical rescue requested at 11 Cortland Lane on Thursday at 1:58 p.m. Patient taken to the hospital.

Request for medical assistance for a person having difficulty breathing at Colonial Gardens on Thursday at 2:28 p.m. Patient refused assistance.

Ambulance wanted at 500 Ross Drive on Thursday at 10:48 p.m. for a resident not feeling well. Patient refused assistance. 



A report of a motor vehicle crash on Pleasant Street at 2:54 p.m. Thursday; at Humphrey Street and Seaview Avenue at 4:12 p.m. Thursday.

A caller reported a tree fell on her three cars in their driveway on Barnard Street at 8:15 a.m. Thursday.

A report of a tree limb on a sidewalk on Smith Street at 8:32 a.m. Thursday.

An elderly resident said he and his neighbors on Amherst Road have had no power since Wednesday at 9:06 a.m. Thursday. He is 91 and his neighbor will be 100 on the 23rd. Caller has no phone in his home and cable is out too. He hasn’t eaten since yesterday at 2 p.m. because he hasn’t opened his fridge to preserve his food. Police advised him to go to the Senior Center for assistance. 

A report of a tree branch down on Lawrence Drive at 9:33 a.m. Thursday. 

A Euclid Avenue resident reported a caretaker of an abutting property yelled at her landscaper yesterday about cutting a hedge at 11:36 a.m. Thursday. The landscaper left without completing the job. 

A caller reported a bad driver at Atlantic Avenue and Beach Street at 1:45 p.m. Thursday. The driver reportedly turned in front of him onto Beach Street suddenly. He followed the car to the Post Office. The caller felt the woman should not be driving at 1:45 p.m. Thursday. 

A report of a woman pointing her fingers in the shape of a gun at people passing by at Ocean Avenue and Corinthian Lane at 4:45 p.m. Thursday. 

A report of a stolen package from Commercial Street at 5:31 p.m. Thursday. 

A report of illegal dumping on Evans Road at 7:41 p.m. Thursday. 


A report of a stolen bike on green Street at 8:27 p.m. Thursday.



A Little Nahant Road resident was concerned about boats that anchor just below her home at night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The caller said the boats have been there for the past several nights. They are quiet but shine lights on her house. 

A caller on Sherman Avenue reported raccoons in her dumpster at 12:50 p.m. Thursday. 

A report of two motorcycles doing wheelies in the outbound lane of Nahant Road at 7:49 p.m. Thursday. 



Motor vehicle crash with no injuries reported on Wednesday at 4:14 p.m. at 163 Washington and 124 Foster streets. Officer reports vehicle towed by Mallia’s Towing. 


Tree reported down at 40 Lake St. on Wednesday at 4:33 p.m. Peabody Municipal Light Plant and the Department of Public Works contacted. Officer reports two detail officers assigned.

Massachusetts State Police reports wires down at Blushing Bride at 215 Newbury St. Peabody Fire Department and Peabody Municipal Light Plant notified on Wednesday at 5:02 p.m. 

Man from 111 Foster St., Apt. 304 reports possible assault on Wednesday at 6:53 p.m. Party said a Hispanic man has been hanging around outside drinking and harassing the residents. He is described as about 35 years old, with a thin build and may live in the building. Caller said he will notify police when he is seen again.

Officer observed a man approach several customers entering Central Street Liquors at 17 Central St. on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. Officer spoke to the store clerk who said the man demanded $5. The man, Mr. Smith, has been banned from other establishments in the city due to his behavior. The clerk said Smith has been harassing customers for money. Officer advised the clerk to contact  police if Smith is an issue. Officer spoke to Smith and dropped him off at the group home at 63 Andover St. and told staff of the incident.

Report of a downed tree and branches on power line at 37 Lenox Road on Wednesday at 8:36 p.m. Officer checked the location and found no hanging wires and all is OK.

Report of several people in front of 54 Fulton St. fighting on Wednesday at 9:27 p.m. Caller said the vehicle left in a black pickup with a ladder rack prior to officers arrival.

Caller reported a 40- to 50-year-old Hispanic man wearing a blue shirt and baseball cap asking patrons for money in the ice cream line at Down River Ice Cream on Andover Street on Wednesday at 9:58 p.m. Officer spoke with the man  and advised him he was not welcome. Officer also spoke with the caller and they will work on a keep-out order.

Report of teens acting out and recording people in the Bill & Bob’s Roast Beef parking lot at 2 Central St. on Wednesday at 11:22 p.m. 

Tree limb reported on Cedar Grove Avenue near the cemetery on Thursday at 2:05 a.m.  Officer reports the road is passable, but contacted the Department of Public Works. 

Dispute reported between tenants at 29 Paleologos St. on Thursday at 4:20 a.m. Officer reports parties separated and agreed to stay in their respective apartments, first floor tenants moving out today.

Resident reports that there are branches laying on the wires at 137 Lake St. on Thursday at 8:42 a.m. Peabody Municipal Light Plant was notified. The address will be added to the list and they will be removed.

Medical Aid

Caller requested detox at Sunshine Laundry at 48 Foster St. on Wednesday at 5:34 p.m. Patient taken to Beverly Hospital.



A report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run crash reported Thursday at 12:46 p.m. at Starbucks, 450 Paradise Road; a hit-and-run crash reported Thursday at 5:10 p.m. at Salem Street and Sunbeam Lane; a motor vehicle accident reported Thursday at 5:49 p.m. at 592 Humphrey St.


A report of a larceny on Thursday at 8:36 p.m. at 304 Essex St.
