More than 200 people turned out for the Lynn Woods Summer Cross Country Series races Wednesday evening, with two races run on the day.
In the short race around Stone Tower, Saugus’ Michael Mansfield earned the top spot with a time of 15:08. Swampscott’s Dylan Bradley was right behind with a time of 15:11, while Lynn’s Michael Carroll finished in third place with a time of 15:50. Lynn’s Cody Huynh (16:38) and Winthrop’s Warren MacPhail (16:47) rounded out the top five.
In the 7.54-mile long race, dubbed “Tour de Lynn Woods,” Lynn’s Matt Viega took first place with a time of 53:39. North Andover’s Jacob Johns finished in second place with a time of 55:49, while Saugus’ Steven Bennett finished third with a time of 59:25. Lynnfield’s Edward Hook (59:26) and Melrose’s Adam Cook (1:00:42) rounded out the top five.
The Lynn Woods Summer Cross Country Series will continue next Wednesday and every Wednesday through September 25.
