Marblehead Little Theatre hosts summer music series

MARBLEHEAD — Beginning Saturday, July 20, Marblehead Little Theatre will host a  Summer of Music concert series featuring rising stars and open mic nights. Craig VanRemoortel of Marblehead is producer.

The first concert will feature songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Ethan Lally of Gloucester, who will be joined by Mitch Dion on drums and Derek Dupuis on bass. 

Tickets, $10 for students and $20 for adults, can be purchased online at or at the door.

Additional concerts are scheduled for Saturday evenings on July 27, Aug. 24 and 31, and Sept. 7. All concerts begin at 8 p.m. Open mic nights will be on Thursday evenings on July 25, Aug. 1, 15 and 29, and Sept. 7 and 12. Open mic admission is $5 at the door for audience members and performers. Open mic nights are open to performers of all ages.

All events will be held in MLT's Firehouse Theatre, 12 School St. 

VanRemoortel, a Marblehead High School graduate, is a rising senior Music Industry major concentrating in Recording Arts and Music Production with a minor in Business Administration at Drexel University in Philadelphia. VanRemoortel will be familiar to local residents through his teaching, playing guitar and saxophone, and for playing lead guitar for MLT's "American Idiot," "Rock of Ages" and "Mamma Mia." 

Started in 1955, the award-winning Marblehead Little Theatre is one of the oldest community theater groups in New England, having consistently presented live-theater productions and performances for more than six decades.
