SAUGUS — Overnight road closures on Route 1 in Saugus will continue each night through the fall.
The lane closures, which began on July 7, are implemented from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. They will be spread out at various locations on Route 1 between Route 99 in Saugus and the Lynnfield town line.
The closures are necessary to allow crews and contractors to safely and effectively conduct construction operations, according to a statement from Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
People traveling through the impacted areas should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution. The schedule for this work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
