Police received a message on its phone app at 2 a.m. Monday about a white man wearing a jean jacket at the corner of Gardner and Margin streets on what appears to be a woman’s white TMS bicycle with a basket. The suspect saw a resident in the area and appeared to be startled, jumped off the bike, parked it at the phone pole at 51 Margin St. and headed down Gardner where he disappeared. The bike was still there as of 5 p.m. Reporting party wanted to make police aware the bike is most likely stolen and can be recovered and might be connected to something police are working on. Officer reports the Zagster bike has a GPS tracker and the company will find it.
