The Lynn Parks and Recreation Summer Basketball League rolled on at a new venue in Kiley Park Wednesday afternoon. There were only five games on the slate, with one elementary game, two middle school games and two high school games.
In the elementary school game, Pizza Lovers barely took down Councilor Rick Starbard, 22-21. Travis Sanchez led the way for Pizza Lovers with 11 points, while Kameron Rucker had 10 points to lead Councilor Rick Starbard.
In the first middle school game, Buzzy Barton earned a 49-39 win over Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home behind 21 points from Denzell Guillen. Joshua Anderson scored 10 points to lead the way for Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home.
The second middle school game saw Gannon Building Association squeeze past Columbia Insurance, 31-30. Lester Llen had nine points to lead the Gannon Building Association offense, while Yael Vizcaino led Columbia Insurance with 11 points.
In the high school division, John’s Fuel Service Inc. took down Neal A. Price & Co. 66-44. Jeffrey Barbosa led John’s Fuel Services Inc. with 24 points, while Juery Barbosa had 20 points to lead the way for Neal A. Price & Co.
In the final high school game, Solimine Funeral Home earned a 47-43 win over Leahy Landscaping. Emajae Brown had 11 points to lead the way for Solimine Funeral Home, while Taj Purter had 15 points to pace the offense for Leahy Landscaping.
The Lynn Parks and Recreation Summer Basketball League will continue Thursday afternoon back at Kiley Park before making its return to Lynn English next week.
