A report of a missing child at 5:57 p.m. Friday on Mechanic Street. A mother reported she couldn’t find her 11-year-old son. Police checked Gas House Beach. The harbormaster checked the area and later checked along the rocks by Gerry Island near Fort Sewall. The harbormaster spoke to some boaters and they reported seeing a kid swimming alone who fit the description between Gerry Island and Brown’s Island about an hour earlier. The Salem harbormaster later responded. The child was found on Surf Street.
A report of a disturbance at 11:50 p.m. Friday on Rowland Street. A caller reported two males were arguing loudly in the street and later inside a home. She thought they were physically fighting, but couldn’t see them. She said they must be fighting because they were “shaking the whole house.” Police reported there wasn’t a disturbance.

A caller reported something strange happened the other night at 6:39 p.m. Saturday on Evans Road. She had a friend install air conditioners in her home and while they were at 4th of July festivities, she noticed when she came home, the air conditioner was taken out of the window. It was unplugged and the shades were up. There was nothing missing from the home and nothing else appeared amiss, but she wanted to let police know what happened.
A report of a stolen bicycle valued at $400 at 6:12 p.m. Friday on Devereux Street. The bike was reportedly taken from the driveway.

A caller reported a woman with two aggressive dogs in the Tot Lot Playground on the Causeway scaring his children at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday. State Police cleared the lot because the park closes at dusk. The two aggressive Chihuahuas were moved along.

Deandre Joseph, 21, of 10 Kahler Ave., Apt. 2, Milton, was arrested and charged with two counts of disguise to obstruct justice, disturbing the peace, motor vehicle breaking and entering for a misdemeanor, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle and number plate violation to conceal ID at 9:53 p.m. Thursday.

A report of a motor vehicle breaking and entering at 3:17 p.m. Wednesday at 4 Essex Lane. A bottle of perfume was taken from the unlocked car.
A motor vehicle breaking and entering was reported at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday at 3133 Avalon Drive. About $600 worth of tools were taken from a truck.

A report of a motor vehicle breaking and entering at 9:53 p.m. Thursday at 68 Gardner St. A caller reported an unknown man was inside his car. The man, Deandre Joseph, was arrested.
A report of suspicious activity at 9:08 p.m. Wednesday at 22 Buford Road. A caller reported video footage showed a suspicious man, possibly armed, came to her door earlier that night. Police reviewed the footage and reported there was no gun.
Suspicious activity was reported at 11:20 a.m. Thursday at 65 Glen Drive and 157 Russell St. A man with a toolbelt but no tools was reportedly going from door to door. The man was told he needed to check in with the police station and stopped for the day.

Suspicious activity was reported at 8:34 p.m. Thursday at 10 Harris St. A caller reported an elderly man claiming to be a police officer approached his family about the party they were having and told him the music was too loud. Police reported the issue was resolved.
