Harry MacCabe retired after more than 40 years of service to Lynn

LYNN — Lynn Housing Authority and Neighborhood Development said goodbye to Harry MacCabe, who retired last week after more than 40 years of service to the city. MacCabe began his career in 1978, having his first day of work delayed due to the blizzard of ’78. 

His work as Director of Regional Services included oversight of Lynn Continuum Of Care, North Shore Housing Action Group, Homebase, Raft and the Lynn Community Connections. Since becoming the Director of Regional Housing and Services, the programs have expanded including the Siemer Foundation, a partnership between LHAND and the Lynn Schools through United Way. Other new programs in place are LAUNCH, United Way, EOHHS grant to end Youth Homelessness and the Jobs Plus, a grant from HUD. 

MacCabe is currently a board member of the Department of Transitional Assistance Advisory Board, board member of the Lynn Community Connection Advisory Board and 

committee member of Eliot’s Consumer Advisory Board.
