LYNN — Police said a 35-year-old Peabody man was intoxicated when he struck 10 parked cars Monday morning.
Daem A. Cardona was not arrested. He was cited for operating under the influence of liquor, speeding and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to Lynn Police Lt. Larry Wentzell.
Police said he lost control of his car while driving down Ocean Street shortly before 1 a.m., sideswiped the vehicles and caused a significant amount of property damage. The driver’s tire reportedly came off of his car after the vehicles were struck, Wentzell said.
There were no occupants in the parked cars when the crash occurred. Cardona was treated and released at Salem Hospital, Wentzell said.
The collision littered the street with fragments of headlights and taillights and car body work. Skid marks were visible in the grassy median strip between the curb and the sidewalk.
