The Lynn Babe Ruth 15-year-old all-stars had no trouble Monday night, defeating Peabody 16-4 in a shortened 5-inning tilt at Bezemes Diamond.
Just about everyone in Lynn’s batting order contributed in this one. Jason Donohue (3-for-3) and Christian Moran (1-for-2) drove in three RBI each. Ethaniel Almendarez (2-for-4), Tyler Wilson (2-for-3) and Nolan Mulcahy (2-for-3) each drove in two RBI. Aaron O’Connor (1-for-4) and Ryan Fraher (1-for-3) drove in one RBI apiece. Tyler Dugan and Anthony Mateo each went 1-for-3.
Starter Anthony Marino went the first three innings with five strikeouts. Jason Donohue allowed one hit over two innings of relief.
“The defense was great and we hit the ball,” coach Brian O’Connor said. “When you do those two things, you’re not going to lose. Good things are going to happen.”
Lynn (2-0) takes on Saugus Wednesday (5) at Peabody. Lynn defeated Saugus 5-2 Sunday.
“We expect another tough game from Saugus,” O’Connor said. “We’re going to try and get our offense going a little earlier in that one.”
The 13’s (at Peabody, 8) and 14’s (host Peabody at Clancy, 6) are in action Tuesday.
