On Friday, May 3, over 350 people gathered at Acura of Peabody for North Shore Medical Center’s 10th anniversary Gourmet Gala. It was a wonderful evening of delicious food and a lively auction in support of a great cause. Billy Costa of Kiss 108’s “Matty in the Morning” show and NECN’s “Dining Playbook” served as auctioneer, helping to raise funds for cancer care on the North Shore.
Proceeds from this year’s gala will be used to provide support to oncology services on the North Shore Medical Center’s Salem campus as well as for clinical trials, wellness care and other oncology services at the Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center in Danvers.
We would like to thank all those who contributed to making the event a success, including several area businesses that donated items for our silent and live auctions.
We also thank the restaurants from around the North Shore that served up tasty food to our guests. Local restaurants and purveyors included: Alto Forno, Bancroft & Co., Blu Karma, Burtons Grill & Bar, Capito Coffee, Dal Mare, Daniella’s Café and Market, Evviva Cucina, Henry’s, LaRosa’s, Pellana Prime Steakhouse, Rumson Rum, Teresa’s Prime, Teresa’s Italian Eatery, The Topsfield Bakeshop, Treadwell’s World Famous Ice Cream, and the Whoo(pie) Wagon.
Thanks as well to the 2019 Steering Committee of the North Shore Cancer WALK, including 2019 WALK co-chairs Steve Austin and Kelly Donahue, Joel Avery, Elisabeth Avila, Deedie Beidler, JoAnn Gillette, Ann Hargraves, Daniella Mammola, Kevin Noyes, LauraLee Poirier, Jacki Shambaugh, Ed Soul and John Zimmerman.

Contributions have supported renovations, equipment purchases, clinical trials, and wellness services such as massage and acupuncture to help alleviate pain and nausea.
