Leonardo Aponte, 33, of 104 Union St., was arrested and charged with Class A drug possession and violation of the city knife violation at 5:44 p.m. Tuesday.

Michael Bradley, 48, of 100 Willow St., was arrested and charged with trespassing at 10:52 a.m. Wednesday.

Joseph Costa, 26, was arrested and charged with motor vehicle breaking and entering with theft at 7:02 a.m. Wednesday.

Robert Emerson, 40, was arrested and charged with motor vehicle breaking and entering with theft at 6:39 a.m. Wednesday.

Niccolo Guerrero, of 1 Breed Terrace, was arrested on warrant charges of child under 6 without a car seat, truck displaying a false owner’s name and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at 10:41 a.m. Wednesday.

Julio Jimenez, 27, of 23 Lexington St., was arrested and charged with motor vehicle breaking and entering with theft at 6:09 a.m. Wednesday.

Sheila O’Brien, 63, of 35 N Bend St., was arrested and charged with intimidation of a witness, juror, police or court official at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Japhal Perez, 29, was arrested and charged with trespassing at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday.

Breaking and Entering

A report of motor vehicle theft at 3:54 p.m. Tuesday at 7 Circuit Ave.

Accidental fire alarm sounded at Sunrise Assisted Living at 55 Salem St. on Tuesday at 1:50 p.m.

Fire alarm sounded at Lynnfield High School at 275 Essex St. on Tuesday 10:08 p.m.  Call handled by the Lynnfield Fire Department.


Property check requested of businesses at Post Office Square and Salem Street on Wednesday at 12:30 a.m.

Medical Aid

The Reading Police Department requested a well-being check for a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living at 55 Salem St. on Tuesday at 9:46 p.m. Officer reports resident checked out OK.



A caller reported a hit and run motor vehicle crash at 7:23 p.m. on Tuesday. A BOLO was put out for a possible dark blue or black crossover/station wagon type vehicle.

A caller reported at 1:33 a.m. on Wednesday that her Preston Beach Road neighbor has been running his car the last couple of nights for a few hours starting at 11 p.m. Responding officers found no running car.


A caller reported multiple vehicles illegally parked at the corner of Sewall and Jersey streets at 4:13 p.m. on Tuesday. Responding officers found no issues.

A caller reported he had no electricity on Summer Street at 6:57 p.m. on Tuesday. He stated he has medical equipment that needs electricity. Responding officers contacted the local lineman.



Motor vehicle crash reported on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. at 3 Abington Ave. and 54 Gardner St. Officer reported vehicles were towed by All-Star Towing, no injuries.

Report of a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday at 10:06 a.m. at Route 128 North and Centennial Drive. Officer reports Atlantic Ambulance en route, but no need for medical attention and ambulance was canceled.

Animal Control

Report of dog left outside in the rain for several hours on Nickerson Road on Monday at 4:40 p.m. Animal control officer reports the dogs were chained outside and she was unable to contact the owners.

A large stray German Shepherd without a collar was reported on Monday at 5:06 p.m. in the driveway at 31 Union St. Residents are afraid to get out of their vehicle. Sargent reports the dog appears to be in good health and was not aggressive.

Caller left a message on Sunday about loose dogs reported on the bike path. Call was received by the animal control officer on Tuesday at 8:29 a.m. Caller said the dogs chase her when she’s rollerblading. On callback, she was told there is only one animal control officer and she does not work on weekends. She was asked to call again if she can get information on the offending dogs. She became upset and said the call was useless.


Lids at the Northshore Mall reported a thief stole a $35 Yankees hat on Monday at 3:06 p.m. Officer will document.

While responding to another call, an officer reported a vehicle facing the wrong direction on Andover Street near the Down River Ice Cream on Monday at 7:41 p.m. Officers checked the area but vehicle was gone upon arrival.

Report of a customer and clerk at the CVS Pharmacy at 637 Lowell St. on Monday at 7:43 p.m. Officer reports the matter was resolved.

Neighbor complained of a loud baby at 17 Harris St. on Monday at 11 p.m. Officer reports ongoing issue between the landlord and tenant. Caller advised any further issues should be settled in court.

Fight in progress at the Zwu’s Asian Cuisine at 5 Central St. reported on Monday at 11:23 p.m., no weapons, broken glass. Officer reports the fight was over Turtle Boy Sports, a news website. Female party was told she is no longer welcome in the restaurant. Police called back to the scene at 11:50 p.m. for a fight. Officer reports no physical fight.

Well-being check requested by a Beverly Hospital counselor for a Main Street resident on Tuesday at 11:54 a.m. Counselor said he told her he wants to “give up” and “doesn’t want to eat anymore.” Officer reports the man does not want to go to the hospital. Beverly Hospital was informed.

Elderly man reported leaning against the fence across from the cemetery on Walnut Street on Tuesday at 1:01 p.m. Officer checking Peabody side, the Salem Police Department notified to check their area.

Well-being check request for a mom at 42 Driscoll St. by her son on Tuesday at 1:57 p.m. Officer reports phone was off the hook. All is OK.



Vinicius G. Teixeira Jr., 29, of 55 Auburn St., was arrested and charged with distribution of a class D drug. Saugus detectives worked with the FBI with the execution of a federal arrest warrant.

Nelson Hernandez, 40, of 11 Clark Ave., Apt. 2, Chelsea, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, marked lanes violation, and speeding.


A report of a motor vehicle accident at Cliftondale Square at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday.


A caller reported her neighbor’s music is too loud at 7 Myrtle St. at 1:03 a.m. Tuesday.

A report of a detached manhole cover at Walnut and Elm streets at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday.

A caller at DSW on Broadway reported a woman trying to steal shoes and throwing shoes at employees at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A caller on Central Street reported he believed he found pieces of a firearm in a bush in front of his home at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday. Police reported it appears to be a piece of a BB gun.

A caller reported a vehicle with the driver side window smashed out at 50 Essex St. at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday.



A report of a motor vehicle crash with property damage less than $1,000 at 52 Burpee Road at 1:05 p.m. on Tuesday.


A report of suspicious activity at 402 Paradise Road at 2:33 a.m. on Wednesday.
