LYNN — Two men are facing kidnapping and armed robbery charges after dragging a 24-year-old Lynn man into a home against his will and taking some of his belongings at knifepoint on Sunday night, police said.
Steve Almonor, 26, of Peabody, was arrested and charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, receiving stolen property, kidnapping and on a warrant.
Widmark Duval, 37, was arrested and faces the same charges.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m., a Lynn Police officer was flagged down by the victim who alleged he was approached by four people, two men and two women, when he was waiting for a bus, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
He told police the people asked him some “bizarre questions” and then forced him into a house on Pinkham Place after robbing him of some cash on the street, Kmiec said.
The victim alleged that he was surrounded by several people inside the house. Duval reportedly brandished a knife and then gave the weapon to Almonor. The victim reported he was kicked and robbed again, this time of his cellphone and watch, Kmiec said.
The two women who initially approached the victim were not charged and neither were the additional people who were inside the home, because police don’t think they took part in the robbery, Kmiec said.
