LYNN — A Revere man and 16-year-old juvenile were arrested after an illegal gun was found in their car during a motor vehicle stop on Friday night, police said.
Police pulled the car over because it was unregistered and uninsured. The gun was found in the driver’s seat rear pocket during a search of the car before it was towed, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
Alvin Carter, 39, was arrested and charged with carrying a loaded firearm weapon, firearm use in a felony, firearm possession without a firearm identification card, drug possession with intent to distribute and numerous motor vehicle violations and on warrants.
The juvenile was charged with carrying a loaded firearm weapon, firearm use in a felony, unlawful possession of ammo and heroin possession, Kmiec said.
Police found a large amount of heroin in the police cruiser that took the juvenile to the station and the teen had ammunition that matched the caliber of the gun that was found, Kmiec said.
