Letter to the Editor: We need a ferry more than ever

The state Department of Transportation has provided the public a two-week notice regarding major construction projects that will last approximately two years on the Tobin Bridge and Chelsea Viaduct.

Commuters who travel those routes daily will only experience more delays as Boston has been named the most congested city in the nation.

The governor and state Legislature have an obligation to the general public and to motorists who travel to Boston to work or shop or keep appointments at Boston hospitals.

I urge the citizens to contact the governor’s office, their legislators, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh to make a push to renew funding year-round for the Lynn-Boston ferry.

Do they need any more reason not to?
