LYNN—- The 42nd annual Lynn Elementary Tournament continued Friday at Pickering Middle School.
The last of the semi final games were played with four different schools advancing to Saturday’s divisional championships.
Game 1 saw two potent offenses clash as Drewicz took on the boys from Harrington. The Hornets took a five-point lead into the third quarter but Javihan Martinez’s 27 second-half points (32, overall) were too much for Harrington as it fell 48-35. Harrington’s Camron Thornton led all scorers with 33 points.
In the second Division 1 boys game of the day, the Tracy Eagles took on the Falcons from Ford. Tracy claimed the 28-18 victory behind 12 points from Cameron Weaver and eight from Abel Novas. June Vasquez had six for Ford. Tracy will battle Drewicz for the D1 crown Saturday at 1:30.
The first of two Division 2 boys matchups saw the undefeated Eagles of Callahan taking on the Brickett Tigers. Callahan kept its unbeaten streak alive with a 45-20 win. Darryl Reynolds paced the Eagles with 12 points while teammate Jason Perry chipped in nine. Jeremy Perez was Brickett’s high scorer with 10 points.
In the night’s final game Lynn Woods advanced to the D2 final with a 27-18 win over Sewell-Anderson. Marvin Avery led Lynn Woods with 12 points and Kyle Doney added seven for the Wolves. Jayson Avery and Ziad Khan had four points each for Sewell-Anderson. Lynn Woods takes on Callahan at 3:30 on Saturday for the Division 2 boys title.
