The 42nd annual Lynn Elementary Basketball Tournament continued Thursday night at Pickering Middle School. Three girls teams punched their tickets to Saturday’s Divisional Championships.
In the first game, Harrington, playing its second game in as many days, defeated Ingalls 20-6. Harrington was led by six points each from Nyda Rivera and Neveah Rivera. Francheska Pecjo and Brookelyn Green were the high scorers for Ingalls.
Harrington’s opponent in the next round would be determined in the next game, a battle between Drewicz and Cobbet. The 1-2 punch of Erichelle Lluveres (nine points) and Marly Perez (eight points) proved to be too much for the Cougars to handle and Drewicz prevailed, 21-11. Cobbet’s high scorer was Jennifer Florencio Ramirez with five points. Drewicz plays Harrington Saturday (11).
The girls bracket was completed when Shoemaker defeated Lynn Woods 14-4. Shoemaker’s Bella Owumi came off the bench to score a game-high seven points for the Sharks. Madison Desilets was the Lynn Woods high scorer. Shoemaker takes on Lincoln-Thomson Saturday (12:30).
