BEVERLY — The Cabot theater will host a mural launch party on March 21. This free, all-ages event is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m.
The project comes from a grant recently awarded by Essex County Community Foundation and in partnership with Beyond Walls, the Lynn-based creative placemaking organization. The Cabot will install world-class murals on its exterior walls this summer, and the launch party will be an opportunity for the community to learn more about and provide input on the project.
Artists and designs have yet to be selected.
“Seeking to continue our city’s rich history of arts and culture, our top priority is making sure that our murals best reflect Beverly’s people, and that’s why we’re most eager to hear their thoughts at the upcoming launch party,” said Casey Soward, executive director of The Cabot. “Pairing local input with the expertise of Beyond Walls, I am confident these murals will magnify the eclectic arts community in downtown Beverly and, hopefully, inspire more public art installations throughout the city and beyond.”
As part of fundraising efforts required to complete the murals, The Cabot is seeking community support through a $15,000 crowdfunding campaign. Donations of all amounts are welcomed and appreciated.
