MARBLEHEAD — On Saturday, March 23 at 8 p.m., Marblehead Little Theatre will host “A Night With the Super Stars” — a one-night-only preview with cast members from the group’s production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” performing their favorite songs from a variety of genres.
The event will be held at MLT’s Firehouse Theatre, 12 School St. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at mltlive.org or at Arnould Gallery and Framery at 111 Washington St. Proceeds will benefit MLT’s production budget.
Following the performance, audience members can meet and mingle with the actors and behind-the-scenes personnel from the MLT production, which will be staged April 5 to 7 and April 11 to 14 at the Firehouse Theatre. Tickets for Marblehead Little Theatre’s production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” are also available at mltlive.org and at Arnould Gallery and Framery. Tickets are $25 each. There is a special $15 student rate for matinee performances.
With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, “Jesus Christ Superstar” is a rock opera based on the last week of Jesus’ life.
Started in 1955 by members of the Marblehead Women’s Club, the award-winning MLT is one of the oldest community theater groups in New England, having consistently presented live-theater productions for more than six decades.
