LYNN — The Lynn Police Department will host a Citizen’s Academy next month.
The academy will start on April 4 and will be on Thursday nights for 10 weeks from 6-9 p.m. at the police station.
The academy will cover topics such as patrol and arrest procedures, motor vehicle law and criminal investigations. Attendees will have an opportunity for a two-hour ride-along with patrol officers.
The academy will be limited to 20 students, who must be at least 18 and either Lynn residents or local business owners.
The deadline to apply is March 29.
Applications are available at the front desk of the police station or on the department’s website. Each applicant will have to have a background check, which will be used to obtain a criminal history record prior to acceptance into the program.
