Two Lynn teams, St. Mary’s girls and Lynn English boys, earned basketball sectional crowns Saturday at UMass-Lowell’s Tsongas Arena. The St. Mary’s girls defeated Amesbury, 59-48, for the Division 3 North title. Senior Pamela Gonzalez logged 20 points and 12 rebounds. The Spartans, The No. 4 seed in the bracket, held the lead for the majority of the game but fought a late Amesbury rally in the fourth quarter to pull away with the victory.

The English boys, the top seed in Division 1 North, was tested from start to finish by Central Catholic in a 67-60 Bulldogs victory. Jarnel Guzman led English with 23 points. Alonzo Linton scored 17 points and had 12 rebounds.

Both teams advanced to the state semifinals, which will be played at TD Garden.

English clashes with Newton North Tuesday night (7:15). St. Mary’s takes on Catholic Central League rival Archbishop Williams Wednesday afternoon (2).
