LYNN — Arts After Hours, Lynn’s community theater, announces that online registration is open for its Summer Theatre Workshop, a program for Lynn and North Shore students, ages 8-18, that will be held July 22-26 in the Neal Rantoul Black Box Theatre in the LynnArts building.
The youth theater initiative aims to bring professional training, workshops and experiences to students. Financial aid is available.
Following its successful round of one-day workshops in summer 2018, Arts After Hours is offering this one-week, half-day intensive, where youths will come together to learn and grow as theater artists and create a piece of theater in a culminating showcase.
Guided by professional theater educators Samantha Gambaccini and Brit Christopher, students will use playmaking to create a new work generated from creative writing, scenework, partner and group activities, and artistic exploration. Students will decide to participate as an actor or a technical theater designer/crew member, depending on their interests. Students and teens of any skill or experience level may take part.
