PEABODY — Tasty main courses from 25 local restaurants and locally-brewed beer and rum are on the menu when the Peabody Rotary Club hosts its popular annual Taste of the North Shore on Tuesday, March 19, 6-9 p.m. at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Danvers. This popular event is now in its 15th year.
In addition, a highlight of the evening will be the drawing of a $10,000 raffle grand prize. Raffle tickets are $100 each and include two admissions to the event. Only 300 raffle tickets will be sold; the winner does not need to be present. Non-raffle admission is $40 per person.
A silent auction with many coveted items, vacations, sports memorabilia, gift certificates, lottery tickets, and more, will be held. There will be lots of $20 mystery bags, with items valued at a minimum of $25 and some a lot more. In addition, raffles will be available to “stock your cellar” with dozens of bottles of wine and craft beers.
As the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year, Taste of the North Shore raises money to fund many important community projects. Sponsors help Peabody Rotary to support student scholarships, feed the homeless, revitalize Peabody playgrounds, and many other projects for local charities.
“We look forward to hosting a fabulous event this year, adding beer and rum tastings and some new foods to delight and surprise our guests,” said club President Stephanie Johnson. “Rotary’s signature event allows us to help students and many others in our community.”
