Letter to the Editor: Let’s strive for racial justice

I am taking a risk as a white woman saying this but I don’t think the governor of Virginia should have to resign for a picture in his college yearbook. That was then — this is now. He is not the same person.

To me it diminishes real racism which is vile and hateful. We all need to find common ground and be kind, respectful and not look to ruin a person’s life over a college yearbook and something that was part of our culture years ago.

I go to a diverse church — St. Stephen’s Episcopal — which strives and prays for racial justice.
