Swampscott Police are warning residents of a wallet thief in the Vinnin Square area.
The department posted on their Facebook page early Tuesday afternoon. They stated they have received two reports of wallet thefts from patrons while in the area’s establishments. In each case, the victims left their purse unoccupied and the wallet was removed.
The incidents occurred on Jan. 26 and Feb. 2, according to Sgt. Jonathan Locke of the Swampscott Police. Both of the victims were female, he said. Each incident is being investigated by Swampscott detectives.
If anyone noticed any suspicious activity, the Swampscott Police Department says to call 781-595-1111.
