SAUGUS — A truck driver struck and knocked out power lines and utility poles at Ballard Street and Lincoln Avenue, then fled the scene, according to Saugus Police.
Tommy Pharr, 40, of Fayetteville, N.C., will be summoned to court and charged with leaving the scene of a crash that caused property damage and marked lanes violations.
Saugus Police Chief Ronald Giorgetti said police responded to the scene shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting downed power lines. Along with the downed lines, a utility pole and stop light were also knocked over and blocking the road.
Pharr fled the scene, according to Giorgetti, and was stopped by Lynn Police in Lynn. He may face additional charges as a result of the ongoing investigation, said Giorgetti.
There were no injuries as a result of the crash, according to Giorgetti.
Ballard Street was closed for several hours. The crash remains under investigation by the Saugus Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Truck Team.
