A Massachusetts State Police Trooper and a tow truck driver were struck by a car on Route 95 in Wakefield early Tuesday morning.
They were taken by ambulance to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington with non-life threatening injuries. The crash occurred at 6:11 a.m. north of Exit 40 at Route 129.
Police said they were outside their vehicles when struck. Two motorists may have sustained minor injuries, but further details were unavailable.
The trooper who was struck managed to call in the crash on his radio, reporting he and the tow driver needed medical assistance.
The facts and circumstances of the crash are under investigation, including whether road or weather conditions were factors. No charges have been filed.
The investigation is being conducted by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
