When it came to yanking Lynn’s ferry from the waterfront, I believe Gov. Baker did not take in consideration that the ferry was funded only for a few months from May to early September.
July and August are the months when most people take vacation time, and many take Friday off.
What about the winter months? They should certainly boost ridership and some drivers would even ride a ferry year round — making it a habit.
We need to reach out to more than local residents with signage and advertisements when — hopefully — we get the ferry back. We need signs drivers can pass by every day.
The state has plenty of money: let’s take some and apply it to the ferry. As Boston Mayor Marty Walsh recently mentioned, his city is getting choked with traffic.
