Marblehead Festival of Arts to unveil winning logo

MARBLEHEAD — Every year the Marblehead Festival of Arts selects a new logo to represent that year’s festival. On Tuesday, Jan. 22, the winner of this year’s logo design competition will be announced during a Logo Premiere Party at The Landing Restaurant, 6-9 p.m. The 2019 Festival Logo was chosen by public vote from three finalists. The premiere presentation will be about 7:15 p.m.

The winning logo will be displayed along with the top 20 entries. It will be used on all products sold during the 2019 festival and on promotional materials throughout the year. “We had great participation in our logo contest this year, and we are always excited to present the finalists to the town in the new year,” said Bill Smalley, contest chairman.  

Finalists are Alondra Acosta, Kristen Nyberg, and Amanda Sylvester. Judges were Wayne George, owner of F L Woods, Nautical Merchants; Mary Melilli, graphic artist and professor of Media and Communication at Salem State University; and Lucille Grant Morton, former logo contest chairwoman and former owner of Image Concepts.

Founded in 1962, the Marblehead Festival of Arts is held each year over the July 4th holiday. It hosts a wide range of art exhibits (painting, sculpture, photography, drawing and other media), outdoor music concerts overlooking Marblehead Harbor, Writers’ World, Street Festival, Artisans’ Marketplace, Film Festival and many other cultural activities for the entire family.
