A couple involved in a shooting in Saugus Thursday morning was arraigned in Lynn District Court Friday.
Lisbet Flores, 20, of Lynn, was held pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Jan. 3. She is charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, armed assault to murder, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and malicious destruction of a motor vehicle.
Flores allegedly shot a gun at Canseco Morillo, 22, of Lynn, during a heated argument in the middle of the road in front of a complex at 30 Hamilton St. Thursday.
Saugus officers initially responded to a report of a disturbance between a man and a woman. While en route, they received a second report that shots had been fired, according to a statement from Chief Ronald Giorgetti.
Morillo allegedly fled the scene in a Ford Taurus before police arrived at the scene. The car was later recovered a few blocks away on Riverbank Road.
A cellphone video that captured the incident and has since gone viral allegedly shows Flores grabbing a firearm from inside the vehicle and shooting it at the car’s door. She tosses the firearm and Morillo gets out of the car to retrieve it before speeding away from the scene.
Nobody was injured in the incident, said Giorgetti, and Flores was arrested shortly after. The video was not released by Saugus Police, he said.
Morillo turned himself in to Lynn Police on a warrant Friday morning, said Carrie Kimball-Monahan, spokeswoman for Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett. Morillo was charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ordered held on $20,000 bail by Judge Randy Chapman. He will return to court on Jan. 18 for a pre-trial hearing.
