The Tech boys basketball team earned a Commonwealth Athletic Conference win Friday night, taking down Northeast Tech 54-32.
Buba Ceesay led the way for the Tigers with 19 points, while Amari Gaston had 8 points and 5 steals. Alex Poission had a well-rounded game with 7 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, while Qasim Abellard dominated the glass with 6 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Classical 49, Somerville 44
Senior Jaylen Johnson led Classical with 23 points and six steals and paced the Rams to a victory in their season opener. Classical aims for its second win of the season Tuesday at Winthrop.
KIPP 51, Charlestown 39
Senior forward Wallace Reed had a game-high 20 points for the Panthers, while junior guard Winfred Sanchez finished with 15 points.
Salem 66, Danvers 55
Isaiah Williamson had a big game for the Witches with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Jhoan Vago added 14 points and 7 rebounds, while Galvin Gonzalez scored 10 points.
Lowell 80, St. John’s Prep 59
The Prep (1-1) hosts St. Mary’s Sunday afternoon (1:30).
Everett 77, Saugus 22
Christian Correia had 13 points for the Sachems in the loss. Saugus (0-2) hosts Marblehead Monday.

Mike Tansey led the way with 21 points and 8 rebounds for Peabody, while Joangel Lugo contributed 16 points.

Swampscott 60, Marblehead 57
Max Pegnato was the leading scorer in the win for the Big Blue, finishing with 19 points to lead all scorers. Andrew Augustin added 16 points, while Jackson Byrne scored 13 points. Swampscott (1-0) hosts Beverly Monday.
Adam Zamansky was the top scorer for Marblehead with 14 points. The Magicians (0-2) play on the road at Saugus Monday.
Beverly 75, Winthrop 58
The Vikings fell to 0-2 this season with the loss. They host Classical Tuesday night (7) in Winthrop.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Saugus 62, Everett 55
Shaylin Groark netted a career-high 14 points for the Sachems in the victory, while Alessia Salzillo added 13 points. Taylor Bogdanski finished with 12 points.
Saugus (1-1) travels to Marblehead Monday.
Archbishop Williams 59, St. Mary’s 43
Olivia Matela led the way for St. Mary’s with 10 points, while Pamela Gonzalez and Nicolette D’Itria each had 8 points.
Swampscott 54, Marblehead 17
Swampscott was led by senior Grace DiGrande, who finished the night with 20 points. Senior Nikki Rosa scored 11 points.
