LYNN — A 19-year-old Lynn man was seriously injured after he was shot in the neck and robbed while sitting in his car on Wilson Street Monday night.
The man was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries following the shooting, but police said on Tuesday he was expected to survive.
The victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of the car, which had two other passengers, when he was approached by two gun-wielding men and told it was a robbery, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
The men stole the shooting victim’s wallet and cash and took a cellphone from one of the other passengers sitting in the car, Kmiec said.
The victims could only describe the suspects as men with their faces covered by hoods. The incident is under investigation and no arrests have been made.
