The Bishop Fenwick swim team brought home a 90-75 win over Arlington Catholic in Thursday’s season opener at Medford High.
Fenwick placed first in eight of the 11 events, including the 200 medley relay (2:00.74 with Catherine Christuk, Sophia Lumino, Sabrina Botthoff and Emily DelBene), the 200 freestyle relay (2:00.81 with Stephen Szpak, Cormac Hinchey, Emily DelBene and Sophia Lumino), the 400 freestyle relay (4:21.47 with Sabrina Botthof, Kathryn Leelman, Rebecca Leelman and Catherine Christuk). Also, Catherine Christuk finished first in the 200 freestyle (2:05.56) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.89), Sophia Lumino finished first in the 200 individual medley (2:17.38) and the 100 butterfly (1:05.71) and Ryan O’Connor finished first in the 500 freestyle (7:10.63).
The 400 freestyle relay team of qualified for sectionals, as did Lumino in the 100 butterfly. The 200 medley relay team qualified for states and sectionals, as did Lumino in the 200 medley and Christuk in the 200 freestyle.
Fenwick travels to Somerville for a meet with Matignon Monday.

Winners for the Magicians were Richard Decarvalho in the high jump (5’10), Nick Karns in the 55 meter hurdle (9.4), Joe Doherty in the 55 meter dash (6.6), Godot Gaskins in the 300 meter (41.4), Ethan Snook in the 600 meter (1:40.4), Max Frey in the 1000 meter (3:11.7), Peter Clifford in the mile (5:24.0) and Oliver Glass in the 2-mile (10:41.0).
Saugus 46, Classical 39
Winners for Saugus were Bruno Auzec in the high jump (5’2), Edlyn Dos Santos in the shot put (41′ 8 1/4), Paul Duong in the 55 meter hurdle (10.0), Javier Martinez-Moretta in the 300 meter (44.1), Elijah Tapia-Gately in the 1000 meter (3:11.5), Chris Bluette in the mile (5:30.2). Winners for Classical were Kyle McCarthy in the 2-mile (12:30), Junior Mejia in the 600 meter (1:42.5) and Oladeji Joaloso in the 55 meter dash (6.8).
Danvers 48, Revere 38
Winners for Revere were Victor Pelatere in the 2-mile (11:18.6) and Fraynel Amparo Del Rosario in the 55 meter hurdle (8.8).
Winthrop 48, English 29
Winners for English were Obed Baswa in the 300 meter (42.5), Adnan Jalal in the 1000 meter (3:02.3), Liam McHale in the mile (5:36.2). Winners for Winthrop were Kim Haddar in the high jump (5′), Billy Hubert in the shot put (33’4), Cam Martin in the 55 meter hurdle (11.0), Bobby Hubert in the 55 meter (6.9), Mark Goudge in the 600 meter (1:47.0) and Comac MacPhail in the 2-mile (11:33.5).

Winners for the Magicians were Lydia Bongiorno in the 300 meter (45.8), Bella Corsini in the 100 meter (3:37.9), Olivia Cleary in the mile (6:09.2), Kristy Twaalfhoven in the 2-mile (12:26.1).
Classical 47.5, Saugus 38.5
Winners for Classical were Jayla Blevins in the high jump (4’8), Maysie Jean-Louis in the 55 meter hurdle (9.9), Kenia Mejia in the mile (6:54.7) and Rachel Brennan in the 2-mile (13:28.8). Winners for Saugus were Amanda Waugh in the shot put (21’10), Jenni Costa in the 300 meter (51.8), Gabby Moreschi in the 1000 meter (3:59.6).
