LYNN — A woman was arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly carjacking another woman, threatening her and then stealing a construction truck.
Katherina Alves, 24, reportedly jumped into the woman’s vehicle at 7:50 a.m. and threatened her to get her to drive to a certain area, according to Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec. Alves reportedly jumped out of the moving vehicle on Chestnut Street and into a construction truck, driving it all the way to Oxford Street, said Kmiec.
Kmiec said a description of the suspect was given, which led Lynn Police to search the area of Oxford Street. Officers spotted Alves and she took off running. They were able to catch up with her and placed her under arrest, said Kmiec.
Alves was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, carjacking, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest at 8:08 a.m. on Thursday.
