LYNN — A 21-year-old Lynn man who threatened to commit suicide was arrested after police responded and found a gun and a large amount of drugs on him Wednesday afternoon.
Alphonso Weah-Weah, of Lynn, was charged with cocaine trafficking, marijuana and Xanax possession with intent to distribute, violation of the city knife violation and numerous firearm violations, including carrying a loaded firearm weapon and firearm possession without a firearm identification card.
Police responded to 107 Jefferson St. shortly after 3 p.m. after family members of Weah-Weah called and said he had threatened to commit suicide, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
Officers found Weah-Weah in his car and were able to safely talk him out of the car. They recovered a .40 caliber Glock he had on him, which had an extended magazine that could hold additional rounds. Police also found several large bags of marijuana in the car and several bags of Xanax pills, Kmiec said.
Police also found cocaine and marijuana in the home. In total, police seized 81 grams of cocaine, more than 4 pounds of marijuana, an unspecified amount of Xanax pills and $1,360 in cash, Kmiec said.
