LYNN — A 27-year-old Lynn woman is facing heroin trafficking charges after police witnessed her allegedly dealing the drug out of her car on Tuesday afternoon.
Along with trafficking, Ariana Wendell was also charged with crack cocaine possession with intent to distribute.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Lynn Police saw a man, later identified as Jake Mastromarino, of Peabody, get into Wendell’s car on Mace Place and then leave shortly after what officers believed was a drug transaction, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
“The presumption was he purchased drugs from her and shortly after, he was stopped and drugs were recovered on him,” Kmiec said.
Mastromarino, 23, was arrested and charged with heroin possession.
Wendell was taken to the police station after her arrest and there, officers found approximately 20 grams of heroin and 14 grams of crack cocaine, with an estimated street value of $3,400, down her pants. Police found $1,260 stuffed in her bra and another $260 was recovered from her either during booking or in her car, Kmiec said.
