NAHANT — The church bells at Nahant Village Church and St. Thomas Aquinas will toll for one minute on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.
Originally, the ringing of the church bells commemorated the signing of the Armistice Treaty of Versailles which signified the end of World War I in 1918. Now, 100 years later, the Nahant Woman’s Club and other Woman’s Clubs in Massachusetts are trying to bring back that tradition. The two Nahant churches agreed to participate, as are numerous other churches across Massachusetts.
