Update: Maslyakov apparently walked all the way to salem State University, where he was found safe, according to Lynn Police Lt. Dave Brown.
“He was in good health, and medical attention was offered to him,” Brown said. “He had walked quite a distance for a man of his age.”
Original post: Lynn police are searching for an elderly man who went missing early Friday afternoon.
Arkaidy Maslyakov, 86, was last seen on Market Street at about 1 p.m. on Friday. He’s 5-feet-four-inches tall, weighs about 140 pounds with white, blading hair, according to a statement posted on Facebook by LynnPolice. He was wearing a tan coat with black shoes and either black or gray pants.
Maslyakov has dementia and does not speak English. Police said he may be heading toward Eastern Avenue.
“We are trying to quickly locate Mr. Maslyakov before the inclement weather sets in,” Lynn Police Lt. Dave Brown said in a statement.
