The 2018 season came to an end for many Northeastern Conference golf teams Tuesday afternoon in the Division 2 North tournament at Four Oaks Country Club in Dracut, with Classical, Marblehead, Salem, Beverly and Gloucester all missing the threshold to get into the state tournament.
The Rams finished with a total score of 374, which earned them 19th place. Brendan Lannon had an impressive showing with a 10-over 82, while Luke Rao contributed a 24-over 96. Tim Nerich and Brett Bucklin each shot a 26-over 98.
Marblehead tied for 14th place as a team with a total score of 349. Brendan Locke and Will Cleary each shot a 13-over 85, while Ben Brennan shot a 16-over 88. Sam Thompson rounded out the scorers for Marblehead with a 19-over 91.
Salem finished in 13th place with a team score of 346. Tommy Harrington had a great day with a 7-over 79, while Nick Angeramo shot a 9-over 81. Ethan Doyle (17-over 89) and Troy Zipper (25-over 97) rounded out the scorers for the Witches.
The only team to make it through to the state tournament at Indian Pond Country Club was Danvers, who placed first overall with a total score of 305. Jared Mscisz was one of only two golfers to break par on the day, shooting a 1-under 71 to tie for first place as an individual. Aaron Paskowski shot a 3-over 75, while Jack Thibodeau shot a 7-over 89 and Michael Papamechail shot an 8-over 80.

The Magicians got one goal each from Amanda Schillinger, Maddie Erskine and Jane O’Neil in the win, while Madi Monahan, Sophie Collins and Jette Arts each had one assist. Emily O’Connor, Emily Clough, Sammi Bendickson, Madyson Kosar and Emma Ferrante all played well for Marblehead in the win.

The Panthers fell by set scores of 20-25, 19-25, 25-21, 22-25. Senior Sophie McGarigal had a huge game with 47 digs, while senior Kate Mulligan had 12 kills, five digs and one block. Angel Deschamps added 13 assists in the loss.

The Magicians had a three-way tie for first place in their big win Tuesday, with John Lucas, Ciro Martin-Sotos and Peter Clifford all running a time of 18:53. Marblehead finishes the regular season with an unblemished 8-0 record and a Northeastern Conference North Division title.
