LYNN — Two businesses were broken into last week after a burglar cut through drywall to get into the neighboring store.
Police responded to the break-in shortly before 9 a.m. last Friday.
At least one person forced open the back door of Party Specialist, a catering business at 530 Chestnut St., and took some cash and a couple of laptop computers, before cutting through the drywall with a knife to get to Sethy’s Convenience Store at 522 Chestnut, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
The two businesses share a basement. At Sethy’s the burglar(s) took some cigarettes and cash and tried to pry an ATM machine open, but were unable to, Kmiec said.
Police said it’s unclear if multiple people were involved. The incident is under investigation.
