A report of a motor vehicle crash at Commercial Street and Atlantic Avenue at 3:49 p.m. on Wednesday.
Complaints
A walk-in reported and said there was a man in front of the church on Atlantic Avenue with a “horrible sign” at 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday. She was advised by police it is the man’s constitutional right to hold the sign.
A caller reported that a man came into his shop on Barnard Street claiming that damage was done to his motor vehicle while it was left there for an estimate at 11:47 a.m. on Wednesday. The caller stated every single area of the shop is recorded with video surveillance and damage was clearly not done while the car was at the shop.
A caller from the selectmen’s office reported a “back-up” beeping alarm coming from the rear building on Washington Street at 12:44 p.m. on Wednesday. Responding officers found the beeping to be from a lift working on the back of the building.
A walk-in reported at 1:01 p.m. on Wednesday that someone tried to open an account at Montgomery Ward but was denied.
A caller reported an elderly female not walking well and refusing assistance at Village and Pleasant streets at 2:23 p.m. on Wednesday. Responding officers spoke with the woman who declined any assistance and stated if she needed any help she would have called her husband.
A walk-in reported at 3:56 p.m. on Wednesday that an ex-boyfriend of a tenant on Vine Street has been showing up and damaging his building.
Multiple reports of poles and trees coming down with live wires on Elm Street, near the Gerry School, Mugford Street, and Green Street between 4:54 p.m. and 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers stated at 7:18 p.m. on Wednesday that about 700 residents were without power.
A caller reported that he was concerned about a utility worker on a ladder at the corner of Fox Run Lane and Maverick Court at 6:38 p.m. on Wednesday. He stated he felt as though someone was going to knock over the ladder coming around the corner because it was halfway in the street.
