LYNN — Six people were arrested and a “ghost gun” was seized as a result of an ongoing investigation by Lynn Police.
Last Thursday morning, the Lynn Police Drug Task Force and State Police Special Tactical Operations (STOP) team executed three search warrants for three separate apartments at 145 Lewis St., Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
In addition to the gun, police seized a large amount of drugs including heroin, cocaine, suboxone, clonazepam, gabapentin and Xanax, Kmiec said.
Police are classifying the weapon seized as a “ghost gun,” which are homemade guns made from a kit that can be found online. The weapons are made without serial numbers, which means police can’t trace them.
“The suspects put it together or bought it put together,” Kmiec said. “It’s not traceable or registerable. Without the serial number on it, there’s nothing attaching that gun to anybody.”
