LYNN — A 20-year-old Revere man was arrested after allegedly firing several shots into the air on High Rock Street and shooting at a car that was fleeing the scene early Saturday morning.
Juan Umana-Zapata was charged with firearm possession without a firearm identification card, carrying a loaded firearm weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, unlawful possession of ammo without a firearm identification card, firearm use in a felony, Class A drug possession with intent to distribute, Class B drug possession with intent to distribute and on a warrant.
Lynn Police responded to a disturbance in the area of 82 High Rock St. shortly before 4 a.m., learned about the gunfire and found the suspect, later identified as Umana-Zapata, with a firearm, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
Officers found several spent casings in the gun and thought that it may have been fired recently. Heroin and cocaine were also allegedly found on Umana-Zapata at the police station, Kmiec said.
Nobody was hit by the gunfire and police have been unable to locate the possible victim, who left the scene by car, according to Kmiec.
