A caller reported at 10:59 a.m. on Friday that she received a call from someone claiming to be the police. She stated they told her that her grandson and his friend were arrested and they needed $5,000 for bail. She sent the money via UPS before realizing it was a scam.
A caller reported a trash truck took some wires down at Beacon Street and Norman Street at 11:18 a.m. on Friday that was causing traffic problems. Responding officers arrived to the scene and assisted with traffic after notifying Electric Light.
A caller reported at 11:26 a.m. on Friday that she feels like she has been poisoned. Responding officers cleared her but still transported her to a hospital.
A caller reported she received a scam call at 11:38 a.m. on Friday. She stated they were claiming to be someone from National Grid and she wanted the police department to be aware.
A caller reported a possibly impaired operator at Community Road at 6:17 p.m. on Friday that was driving on the wrong side of the road. Responding officers found the vehicle unoccupied.
A caller reported someone sleeping in a trailer with a generator running at Redstone Lane at 6:54 p.m. on Friday. The Harbormaster was notified and they stated they were aware of it, that it was a team here for the J/70 sailboat race.
A caller reported construction going on at Green Street at 6:51 a.m. on Saturday. Responding officers advised the workers they can’t even run extension cords until 7 a.m.
A caller reported being behind an erratic operator at Humphrey Street and Tedesco Street at 10:26 a.m. on Saturday. The caller stated the operator was driving on the wrong side of the road so they followed the vehicle to a driveway where they asked the woman if she was OK, which she stated she was. The caller described the woman as elderly, frail, and looking sickly. Responding officers spoke to the woman who denied driving erratically and did not appear to be under the influence.
A caller reported at 11:50 a.m. on Saturday that her computer was hacked and her bank account was drained.
A caller reported a huge crowd in front of Maddie’s Sail Loft on State Street at 11:42 p.m. on Saturday. She stated she doesn’t understand why the establishment doesn’t have a doorman. Responding officers spoke to the large parties who said they were waiting for their Ubers.
A caller reported a male party knocking on her neighbor’s door at Orchard Street and yelling and a second party in a dark sedan in the driveway at 11:53 p.m on Saturday. Responding officers found the parties to be the homeowners who were attempting to get four racoons out of their residence. They requested an animal control officer but a police officer was able to get the racoons out of the home by himself.
