SAUGUS — Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred on Main Street Tuesday evening.
No one was struck by the gunfire, according to Saugus Police, which was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the area of 137 Main St.
Responding officers found spent shell casings in the road and secured the scene.
A suspect riding in the back of a car traveling on Main Street fired several shots out of the car’s back passenger side window. The car, which is described as a blue Chevy sedan with three people inside, left after the shooting, police said.
This incident is under investigation by the Saugus Police Criminal Investigations Division, and officers are working to find the car and its occupants. Massachusetts State Police also responded to assist in the search for the car.
