Big Blue quarterback Graham Inzana had a huge night for the Swampscott football team Friday, throwing for three touchdown passes and taking an interception to the house in a 49-0 win at Triton.
Andrew Augustin had two touchdown receptions in the victory, while Jonathan Oriakhi had one touchdown reception. Dylan January, Zack Palmer and Jordan Cummings each ran for one touchdown.
Swampscott (2-0) visits Winthrop next Friday (7).
Winthrop 28, Medford 20
Bobby Hubert rushed three touchdowns and Jonathan Applebee scored one on a quarterback sneak.
“Bobby had a couple big plays,” Vikings coach Jonathan Cadigan said. “At the end of the game with 1:30 left he broke off a long touchdown to seal it. Chris Castro played very well on defense. I told the team I was proud because Medford scored 20 unanswered points. We blocked an extra point and stopped them at the end to seal it.”
Winthrop (1-1) hosts Swampscott next Friday (7).
St. John’s Prep 31, Central Catholic 12
Quarterback Matt Crowley completed 10-of-17 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a touchdown in the win. Running back Aise Pream had 131 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown, while running back Trent Tully had 82 rushing yards.
The Prep (2-0) visits Everett next Saturday (2:30).
Dedham 29, Bishop Fenwick 20
Keegan O’Connor had a 21-yard touchdown reception in the loss for the Crusaders.
“It was a great football game between two good teams,” said Fenwick coach Dave Woods. “Both sides made plays and both sides fought hard. Dedham’s probably one of the better teams in the South, so it was definitely a good test for us.”
Fenwick (1-1) will host Pentucket next Friday (7).

Zach Arsenault, Patrick Nkada, Andric Barrios and Obed Baswa anchored a solid English defensive effort. Goalie Cherubin Musanga earned the shutout in net. English hosts Saugus Tuesday (3:45) at Manning.
Fenwick 9, Matignon 4
Tarek Nabbout led the Crusaders with a hat trick. Sean Walsh and Shaelin Earle each scored two goals and Adam Josephson saved a penalty kick. The Crusaders are 1-1-1.
KIPP 8, Pioneer Charter (Saugus) 1
Wellington Gonzalez led KIPP with three goals, while freshman Marco Escobar had two goals and one assist. Drannel Sawak, captain Angel Hernandez and Sean Reeves each had one goal. Goalkeeper Cris Rodriguez had a great game in net, while Kevin Palma and James Paz had solid defensive performances.
GIRLS SOCCER
Danvers 2, Marblehead 0
Marblehead goalkeeper Rachel Saulnier had 24 saves in the loss. The Magicians (0-2) play at Peabody Monday.
Swampscott 6, Peabody 0
The Tanners’ youth finally came back to bite them, as Swampscott was able to jump all over Peabody in the early going to take control.
“We played on back our heels right from the start and went down 2-0 in first eight minutes,” said Peabody coach Dennis Desroches. “We played fairly even for next 20-25 minutes, but the third goal by Swampscott kind of deflated us. Our youth showed tonight and Swampscott just played at a different level. We’ll learn from our mistakes and hopefully improve each game.”
Hayley Bernhardt led the Big Blue with three goals and an assist. Grace DiGrande added a goal and goalkee Nikki Rosa made five saves.
VOLLEYBALL
Classical 3, Somerville 0
Classical won by set scores of 25-23, 25-10, 25-17.
Keysha Chevannes led the way with nine service points and two aces, while Amber Crayton had eight service points and four aces. Kiara Edmonds and Brooke Warren each contributed eight service points and Pamela Diaz added seven service points. Shanelle Belmer-Barry had eight kills in the win.
Classical (1-2) plays on the road at Saugus Tuesday.
Peabody 3, Saugus 0
Peabody won by set scores of 25-9, 25-15, 25-20.
Amanda Marmiani had a big day from the back line with 13 service points and two aces, while Rachel Coleman led the offense with four kills and 10 assists. Tatiana Correia logged 23 digs.
Swampscott 3, Everett 0
The Big Blue remained undefeated after notching set wins of 25-18, 25-17, 25-12.
Cassidy Ryan had a big game with 20 assists, while Alexa Winter had three service aces. Alexa Papazoglou had six kills in the win, while Morgan Lenihan had six blocks and Annika Laudmann had 13 digs.
Medford 3, Beverly 2
Despite taking a two-set lead, the Panthers could not hold on and fell by set scores of 25-8, 25-14, 17-25, 23-25, 10-15.
Brooke Fabry had six aces and three kills, while Kate Mulligan had seven kills and Ella Speidel had four kills.
Danvers 3, English 0
English fell by set scores of 2-25, 16-25 and 23-25. Angel Bautista made nine serves with two aces. Genesi Duarte had five hits and two kills. Julia Somaiy logged nine attacks, two kills and six dogs.
“Every set, we played stronger than the last against a formidable opponent,” Bulldogs coach Mike Haddad said. “We definitely made the second and third sets more of a fight. I would like to commend Danvers on excellent play.”
