Police log: 8-21-18

Correction: Due to incorrect information provided to the Lynn Police by an arrested woman and subsequently provided to the Daily Item, this police log gave the wrong name for a person arrested for various charges.

Gina Marie Masella, 35, of Lynn, gave a false name at the time of her arrest on charges of nighttime breaking and entering for a felony and larceny from a building. We will not repeat the given name here.

Police are investigating the matter and the appropriate charges will be sought against Masella.

In the event of a perceived inaccuracy, it is the sole responsibility of the concerned party to contact the relevant police department and have the department issue a notice of correction to the Daily Item. Corrections or clarifications will not be made without express notice of change from the arresting police department.

Idelky Espinal, 32, of 135 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 11:13 p.m. on Sunday.

Gina Marie Masella, 34, of 30 Hollingsworth St., was arrested and charged with breaking and entering nighttime for felony and larceny from building at 10:25 p.m. on Sunday.

William Nieves, 42, of 10A North Franklin St., was arrested and charged with a second offense of operating under the influence of liquor and child endangerment while operating under the influence at 9:43 p.m. on Sunday.

MARBLEHEAD

Arrest

Olivia Vanbuskirk, 29, of 3 Mechanic Court, was arrested on a non-Marblehead warrant at 6:46 p.m. on Sunday.

Complaints

A bartender called and reported a customer had passed out but then regained consciousness on State Street. The customer was cleared after signing a patient refusal at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday.

A caller reported people loading beach rocks into their car at Ocean Avenue and Flint Street. Responding officers spoke to the group, informed them it’s not allowed, and advised them to put the rocks back at 4:14 p.m. on Sunday.

A caller reported kids doing wheelies on their bicycles going across the Causeway, creating a traffic problem at 5:51 p.m. on Sunday.

An officer was approached by a woman who was hosting a 12-year-old’s birthday party at the pavilion at the beach near Ocean Avenue. She said there was a man wearing a navy blue speedo bathing suit, in his mid 50s, who spoke with an accent. She said the man was nearby the kids, staring at them, and when he went to throw away his trash he chose the barrel closest to them. The woman stated she had words with him but he argued back saying it was a public beach. The kids’ fathers arrived and encouraged the man to leave the area at 6:48 p.m. on Sunday.

A caller reported seeing a hypodermic syringe near the trash on Ferry Lane at 7:38 p.m. on Sunday. Responding officers secured the needle.

A walk-in reported a party upstairs of his home on Washington Street, where afterward he heard an air conditioning unit fall out of a window and onto the floor at 1:46 a.m. on Monday. Responding officers were unable to make contact with the person living upstairs until they attempted entry. The person could be heard from inside the apartment playing with the volume of the television set.

Marvin Sanchez, 35, of 751 Broadway Apt. 202, Chelsea, was arrested and charged with failure to stop or yield, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and warrant charges.

A Sunnyside Park resident reported his neighbor was causing a disturbance at 2:41 p.m. Sunday. After police left, the resident called again to report the neighbor threatened him and his children.
