Child porn investigation leads to child rape charges for Lynn man

A Lynn man already being held on charges of child pornography now faces allegations of child rape and sexual assault.

Darryl Moore, 37, who has listed addresses in Lynn and Rowley, was arraigned in Newbury District Court Friday on nine counts of aggravated rape of a child under 16, posing a child in sexual acts, drugging a person for sexual intercourse, and indecent assault on a child under 14, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office.

Moore was arrested on July 17 and charged with distributing child pornography.

He was arrested after Rowley Police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. West Newbury Police, Georgetown Police, Newbury Police, Lynn Police, and the Massachusetts State Police all took part in the investigation.

He was already being held on $100,000 bail when the new charges were issued Friday.

Judge Peter Doyle ordered Moore remain in custody until a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Aug. 23.

Essex Assistant District Attorney Shailagh Kennedy represented the Commonwealth on Friday. Moore was represented by attorney Nicole Bluefort.
