BOSTON — A 44-year-old Revere man was arrested at Downtown Crossing and charged with indecently assaulting a 14-year-old girl shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday.
Michael Brooks was travelling on an outbound Orange Line car when he allegedly began to stare at a young girl in such a way that made another male passenger “suspicious and uncomfortable,” according to a statement from Transit Police.
As the train stopped at downtown Crossing, Brooks allegedly followed behind the child as she and her mother were exiting, and indecently assaulted her, according to police.
The same passenger who was suspicious of the man witnessed what happened and stopped Brooks on the platform. He would not allow him to leave the area until police arrived.
Prior to being placed in police custody, Brooks made incriminating statements to officers, according to the statement.
