The Lynn Woods Summer Cross Country Series continued Wednesday evening with yet another huge turnout, as 253 runners competed across the three races.
In the 1.59-mile long kids race, Lynners dominated as all five of the top finishers hailed from the city. Angelina Owumi finished first overall with a time of 12:38, while Maddie Catalon was right behind in second place with a time of 12:40. Anthony Owumi placed third (12:43), Kelsey Kwiatek finished fourth (12:47) and Bella Owumi finished fifth (14:20).
Lynn kept up its run of dominance in the 2.3-mile Steel Tower race, as four of the top five finishers hail from the Shoe City. Andy Bonifacio led the way in first place with a time of 16:16, while Danvers native Timothy Short placed second with a time of 16:20. After that it was all Lynn again, as Maxwell Gonzalez (16:57), Eamonn McHale (17:02) and Paul Robertson (17:17) rounded out the top five.
The final race of the evening, a 4.56-mile run dubbed, “Not Undercliff, was also won by a Lynn native in Gilley Kabamba (29:55). Jacob Johns of North Andover finished in second place (30:22), while Christopher Bustard of Stoneham placed third (30:59). Greg Esbitt of Salem (33:53) and Patrick Hosman of Peabody (34:00) rounded out the top five finishers.
The Lynn Summer Cross Country Series will continue next week and run through Wednesday, September 26.
